Tyre Nichols Protests

Nationwide protests following the death of Tyre Nichols after a violent encounter with Memphis police during a traffic stop. Civil Lawsuit: Tyre Nichols' mother, RowVaughn Wells, filed a $550 million wrongful death civil lawsuit against the City of Memphis. In early 2026, the five former officers and Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davis were voluntarily dismissed from the civil suit by the family’s legal team.
